Reflecting on the Past Year | Posted on January 6, 2012

We had a blessed and hard year, this past 2011. It has been blessed because we have seen Gods hand move and provide, a farm was “given” to Reto in Norway, for the use of His kingdom and in the work with drug addicts…etc.  We all felt it was an answer to prayers and also a huge challenge. My sister and I began to look in to getting VISA´s to be residents  in Norway, and be able to fully participate with the project of tending to rebellious teenagers and drug addicts, in the process we were asked to leave the country and have been in Spain for the past four months, still waiting for a response to our request. As Americans they do not allow us to wait for a response in Norway. As a team there we have also experienced some hard moments, feeling a strong opposition, but also feel Gods hand there and know He desires to work in our lives.

I got a call to the mission field when I was 19, it was during a short mission trip to Brazil, where I strongly felt God was telling me to go back to this country, so after many doubts and tears, I was off,  still with great fear and doubts, while I was there God confirmed my call, opening a door for me to study a  nursing course, it was a miracle and I knew only God could have opened that door. Paper work has always been very complicated for me because I was born in Mexico, have an American Passport, and permanent Spanish residency, and have never lived in the USA for more than two years.  After I finished my course and living in Brazil for 3 years and a half and also working with drug abusers and alcoholics, I felt my time had come to an end there.  And came back to Spain. After a few months home I received a call from one of the Reto  Pastors here asking if I would go to Norway, to help with a young woman that had two children. During this time I felt God calling me to this country, Norway.  I have lived there for a year and a half.

In the last months of 2011 and the beginning of 2012, we were some what surprised that from a city in Norway, Bergen, drug addicts started to call asking for help, over the years they have given out tracts and evangelized there, this past summer they weren’t able to go and it is when we have seen more fruit, we are reminded that it isn’t what we can do, but God working, so there is approximately 10 Norwegians in Reto  Spain now, we feel like it may be a beginning  to what God wants to do in Norway, and ask that you pray for them, and for the girls house project on the Farm in Norway. Also we are still waiting for our permits to live there, we ask that you pray that God would open the doors and show us His will, and guide each one of our steps and decisions. Please pray for the team there in Norway, we really feel a strong opposition.

In Christ,
